Myra, in Demre, is best known for its Lycian rock tombs. Cut into a sheer cliff face in the form of house facades, they are the city's most distinctive feature.
The Roman theatre survives largely intact, with carved fragments of its stage building and rows of seating. Myra was one of the leading cities of the Lycian League.
