Kemer
A protected coast from Kemer to Adrasan taking in Olympos, Phaselis, Yanartaş and the Lycian Way.
Yanartaş is a slope above Çıralı where natural gas seeping from the ground ignites on its own. The flames rise from cracks between the rocks and relight after being put out.
The phenomenon is thought to have inspired the ancient legend of the Chimaera. The remains of a temple dedicated to Hephaestus lie nearby.
From the car park it is a rocky climb of twenty to thirty minutes to the flames. They show far more clearly in the dark, so evening visits are preferred — bring a torch.
