Alanya
A 13th-century Seljuk fortress with 6.5 km of walls around the peninsula, reached by road or cable car.
Damlataş Cave came to light in Alanya in 1948 during quarrying work. Its stalactites and stalagmites formed over tens of thousands of years.
Temperature and humidity inside stay largely constant year-round; the high humidity and carbon dioxide levels have led people with asthma to visit. Early morning hours are set aside for that purpose.
It lies close to Cleopatra Beach and the Alanya Museum. The accessible section is short and a visit takes about half an hour.
