Alanya
An Alanya cave of stalactites, its humid air long visited for respiratory relief.
Karain Cave in Döşemealtı is among the caves holding the oldest traces of settlement in Anatolia. Excavations have produced finds from the Palaeolithic onwards across several periods.
The cave consists of large connected chambers, and the entrance opens onto a wide view over the Antalya plain. A small museum beside it displays part of the excavated material.
A rocky path leads up from the car park. The site is about thirty kilometres from the city centre and reached by car.
